This autumn Rain Bird distributors from Central Europe gathered together in Stuttgart in Germany for the first time. Those making their way to this prosperous city, where many companies including Daimler, Porche, and Bosch are headquartered, included Roal GmbH from Switzerland, Stock GmbH from Austria, Smits from the Netherlands, and Pipelife. The aim of this event was for Rain Bird distributors to hear directly from Golf Service Plan (GSP) engineers about a range of different topics, as well as having the opportunity to meet colleagues and exchange ideas.

Since joining Rain Bird in 2020 as Regional Sales Manager for Central and Eastern Europe Tina has been developing business relationships in her territory and recruiting new staff to boost the experienced team that spans Europe. Reporting directly to Tina, Sven Weinberger has significant greenkeeping and irrigation experience gained at Fürth and Lauterhofen Golf Clubs, Schmidmühlen Golf and Country Club as well as project management at architectural and development firm BTT Bauteam Tretzel.

Five staff from Hoiana Shores Golf Club and seven from Rain Bird’s Vietnam Distributor Hoang Tram attended the three-day training program designed to ensure that staff installing and commissioning the Rain Bird IC System are factory trained and certified.

Tony Whelan has returned to Rain Bird’s Golf Division as its new international sales manager. In his new role, Whelan will use his significant sales and distribution experience to work closely with Rain Bird Golf’s international business managers and sales managers to grow golf sales in international markets outside of Europe and Canada.

Alastair Higgs has been promoted to the role of Europe Service Manager.
